Arts at Colonel’s Academy are taught to instill awareness and provide exposure about traditional and contemporary art forms, as well as enable students to progressively discover their passions in a specific genre. Creativity and imagination, as well as critical enquiry and finding innovative means of communicating our thoughts – all are skills which are best inculcated and explored through a robust arts curriculum. This is what we strive for at our school.
Art is a diverse range of human activity and it’s resulting product that involves creative or imagination talent generally expressive of technical proficiency, beauty, emotional power or conceptual ideas.
Therefore, various activities has been conducted in classes for students, like: Ice cream stick activity, best of waste, paper bag making, pot painting, newspaper craft, colour exploration activity, bookmark making, kite making, canvas painting, collage making, portrait making, border design, etc.

  • Srija (Art): The world of colours opens up for a child in Srija. He gives form to his imagination by working with his hands using a whole array of art material. Paints, clay, recycled material, different kinds of papers when explored through different techniques helps evolve his creative self.
  • Tarana (Music): Music and songs help every child connect to his inner self and find calm within. They develop a sense of rhythm as well as an understanding of beats. Exploring different musical instruments and their sounds is their first step to creating instruments themselves
  • Nachiketa (Library): Stories, role plays and dramatisations, in fact, a whole world of literary experiences gets initiated in Nachiketa. When the children visit the library, read and listen to stories, they are drawn into the world of imagination and seek expression through the visual and creative arts.

Arts education provides children with the opportunity to explore diverse methods of communication with others. It fosters personal and inventive ideas, significantly contributing to the development of various intelligences. A well-structured arts education at the primary level enhances life experiences and is essential for stimulating creative thinking, as well as promoting adaptability and capability. It emphasizes the creative process, ensuring that the child's work is both personal and of high quality.
